Africa is driven by horror and hope at the same time. With its postcolonial history, a low level of living, with corruption, misuse of power and abuse of children as soldiers, Africa struggles for pure survival on the one hand, while on the other hand metropolises such as Nairobi, Lagos or Cape Town generate success stories of economic, cultural and educational growth. The music of this cd – partly recorded in Benin, Africa – makes you feel the squeeze, but paints as well pictures of heroes in everyday African life, of moral courage and innovative spirit.
